What has the SPSA funded?
We provide indoor games for wet weather play, reading books for the library, various learning and educational materials such as junior newspapers, theatre visits and cultural workshops. We fund a zoo visit for the Reception classes and also the Year 6 leaver’s hoodies and events. .
A new keyboard, piano stools and a full new PA system for the school were bought in recent years. We also fund specialist artists who come to the school to deliver new, innovative art days for the children across the year groups.
Music and Art
All the play structures in the playgrounds, tables & seating, the shelters and the sensory garden were funded by SPSA in recent years. We part-funded the Friend Ship (which also received a lottery grant) and fund a gardener to help keep the garden attractive. One of our current areas of fundraising is for new outdoor play equipment for Key Stage One.
Over the past few years we have bought 90 laptops to support the pupil's digital learning. We also helped to redesign the school website so it can reflect the energy and vibrancy of the school and pay for the Parentmail portal which manages all digital communications to the school community.
We provide direct funding for activities, equipment and facilities that the school could not otherwise afford. Our expertise, project management time and dedication aims to make the school a better place for all children. Here is an overview of what we’ve been up to this year:
